Money and the Power.

Posted by ga2008bby on December 30, 2008

While thinking about this past semester, two aspects of the United States kept coming to mind. People in the US will do whatever it takes to have money and power. President Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act which kicked the Indian out of their Native Land in order to have more land. Land= money and power.

The slaves were abused by their masters and had no choice to obey them. Their masters would decieve them so that they would obey them (by using the bible). Ownership over slaves= Power. Slave work in the fields= Money.

It is so sad to see what people will do in order to take control of the situation.

Here is an interesting quote that I found:
Wealth may be an excellent thing, for it means power, and it means leisure, it means liberty.

It’s funny how people bring freedom into the meaning of money and power. Wouldnt it be freedom for the person who is in need of power? Is there any other certain events that you could think of where somebody will do whatever it takes to gain money and power?
