Re: Nat Turner’s confession

Posted by jwilhelm21 on November 15, 2009

Although I wrote my primary document summary on the “Confessions” of Nat Turner, I feel the need to continue the discussion of the subject in the blog.  I’m wondering why Nat Turner basically gave Thomas Gray exactly what he wanted?  Turner basically undermines the meaning of his whole rebellion in his supposed “confessions” potraying him as a maddened religious fanatic.  It arouses the curiousity of the conspiracy theorist in me. It simply makes no sense.
